Improvement Leadership Summit
Dr. Stankard provided
consultation and assistance in designing and planning
a five day Business Improvement Leadership Summit
of 45 leaders of the Internet equipment division of
this major corporation. In addition to suggesting
speakers he provided input on agenda design, a complete
set of assessment data gathering instruments, and
a time table for instruction and group facilitation
portions of the summit. PDG, Inc. provided nearly
500 pages of proprietary Baldrige training material
from which the client selected the contents of the
Summit’s participant handbook. During the 5 day summit,
Dr. Stankard briefed participants on concepts of management
system maturity, the Baldrige score, and scoring system.
He also demonstrated and coached participants on how
to assess strengths and opportunities for improvement
in a management system and its results. He also coached
their self assessment process and provided feedback
and suggestions for improvement.
Baldrige Assessment For Merging
Companies.
Dr. Stankard was a member
of a team of nationally known Baldrige Experts called
up to assess two firms about to merge. He took responsibility
for assessing the information and analysis methods
of both firms, as well as their business results.
The team assessed each firm’s strengths and areas
to improve independently. They then prepared recommendations
for the adoption of the best practices of each firm
in the combined entity. This work included working
closely with teams from both companies to ensure that
the assessments were fact based and clearly reflective
of the relative strengths of both management systems.
The Executive Integration team of the merging firms
used the final report of the assessments to develop
their integration plan which is now in the process
of implementation.
