The information systems
team at Quantum Corporation was chartered to assess
the organization. After considering in-house developed
assessment processes and tools, we chose the Malcolm
Baldrige National Quality Award process. The first step
we took was to educate our team.
Martin Stankard was the consultant selected for the
training for a number of reasons. His knowledge and
experience on the subject runs very deep, and yet he
is gifted in the ability to communicate in simple language
with great analogies and personal experiences. His explanation
of the business management system as a bicycle race
is worth the price of the course itself. Martin listened
to what I needed and asked many questions related to
my approach and the organization's environment and culture.
After the class, the team had the education, understanding,
process, and tools to successfully self assess the IS
organization. We used the process and survey defined
by Martin with positive results. The leadership has
agreed to perform an on-going self assessment process
annually.

"Sales were lagging
at our software company and improvements were needed.
Martin Stankard helped us to focus on our selling
process. Using his methods led us to develop a new
selling model by analyzing the practices followed
by our best verses worst performers. This new model
worked extremely well, improving sales by 40% when
implemented throughout the sales force."
CEO and President,
New England software company
"I have worked closely with Martin Stankard at
two different companies. At the first, a major electronics
manufacturer, Martin developed and delivered process
improvement and Baldrige readiness training to management
and staff throughout the organization over a five
year period. He has the deepest, most comprehensive
knowledge of the Baldrige process I have ever run
across. He delivers his expertise in a format that
is free of jargon with a no nonsense approach. Martin
has the ability to speak to your business realities
and apply those realities to the Baldrige process
real time."
Mr. K. Edwards
Director of Quality at a large S/W Development Company
"Martin Stankard
conducted training on team process improvement techniques
for both our management and technical staffs. We were
particularly interested in applying these techniques
to a re-engineering effort we were undertaking in
the area of product development and delivery. Our
goals were to 1) improve our customer service and
2) decrease the time to market for our products. There
was a noticeable improvement in developing products
on time and on budget."
